On November 26, Power Transmission Company No. 2 (PTC2), under the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Project to enhance the capacity of the 220kV Dốc Sỏi – Dung Quất transmission line. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Trần Phước Hiền and leaders of relevant departments and localities attended the event.

The project plays a vital role in strengthening transmission capacity and ensuring safe, stable electricity supply for Quảng Ngãi Province and the Dung Quất Economic Zone.
The total investment of the project is nearly VNĐ 85 billion, with completion expected before March 2026.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền emphasized the strategic importance of the Dung Quất Economic Zone, identified by Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo as the future National Center for Refining, Petrochemicals, and Energy. He highlighted the need for timely and synchronized upgrades to energy infrastructure, particularly transmission systems, to meet development demands.

The Vice Chairman praised EVNNPT and PTC2 for their proactive efforts, noting that the project not only applies advanced technical solutions but also reflects strategic vision in securing energy infrastructure. Once completed, the project will help release generation capacity in the region, ensure continuous power supply for Dung Quất Economic Zone, and create a solid foundation for investment attraction and socio-economic growth.
He requested PTC2 and contractors to mobilize maximum resources, organize safe and efficient construction, and ensure timely completion. Provincial departments and localities were tasked with providing support and promptly resolving issues to kee the project on schedule.
