The Quảng Ngãi Provincial Veterans’ Association convened its 8ᵗʰ Congress for the 2025–2030 tenure
QUẢNG NGÃI — The Quảng Ngãi Provincial Veterans’ Association convened its 8ᵗʰ Congress for the 2025–2030 tenure on December 3 with the attendance of provincial leaders, representatives of the Việt Nam Veterans’ Association, and 213 official delegates representing more than 47,000 members across the province.

According to the report presented at the congress, the association has made significant progress in the past tenure thanks to the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the support of the Provincial People’s Council and the Provincial People’s Committee, the collaboration of departments, agencies and mass organisations at all levels, and the guidance of the Central Committee of the Việt Nam Veterans’ Association.
The achievements were also attributed to the dedication, unity, initiative and responsibility demonstrated by all chapters, officials and members throughout the province.
During the 2020–2025 tenure, the association actively contributed to Party and State building, safeguarding national security and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members. It also engaged in legal dissemination, education and counselling for veterans.
Upholding the qualities of “Uncle Hồ’s Soldiers”, members of the association have promoted self-reliance, mutual assistance in economic development, poverty reduction and lawful wealth creation, while participating in local socio-economic development as well as defence and security programmes.
Quảng Ngãi veterans’ association highlights strong socio-economic contributions, sets new goals for 2025–2030
The Quảng Ngãi Provincial Veterans’ Association has continued to play an active role in local socio-economic development, with a wide range of initiatives carried out during the past tenure, according to reports delivered at the 8ᵗʰ Congress for the 2025–2030 term.
Over the last five years, the association has provided VNĐ 1.639 trillion in unsecured loans to help members expand household production and access preferential credit sources, contributing to lifting 1,133 veteran households out of poverty.
It has mobilised resources to build and repair 1,177 houses for disadvantaged members at a total cost of VNĐ 50 billion, donated 50 savings books and 20 breeding cows, and encouraged members to contribute 120,000 sq.m of land and nearly 42,000 working days to support the new rural development and civilised urban area programmes.
The association has also cared for and supported 65 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and worked with competent agencies to search for, relocate and reinter 139 martyrs’ remains in local cemeteries. During the tenure, 4,800 new members were admitted to the association.
At the congress, delegates agreed on directions and tasks for the 2025–2030 term. The association aims to continue promoting the qualities of “Uncle Hồ’s Soldiers” and the tradition of “Loyalty – Solidarity – Exemplarity – Innovation”, ensuring comprehensive fulfilment of all assigned tasks.
Targets for the new tenure

The Quảng Ngãi Provincial Veterans’ Association set targets for the new tenure, including: ensuring all members remain politically steadfast; achieving cultural-family status for 98 per cent of member households; ensuring over 90 percent of association chapters and over 80 percent of officials and members complete their tasks well, with 20 per cent performing exceptionally; admitting between 5,000 and 6,000 new members; developing 300–400 new Party members; providing VNĐ 500–510 billion in policy loans; eliminating poverty among veteran households; and eradicating all makeshift or dilapidated houses among members.
Provincial leader urges innovation, solidarity and stronger community role for veterans’ association

Speaking at the 8ᵗʰ Congress of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Veterans’ Association, Nguyễn Đức Tuy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, praised the efforts and contributions made by all chapters and members of the association over the past tenure.
He highlighted key issues for delegates to discuss in order to clarify priorities for the 2025–2030 term.
Tuy called on the association to strengthen communication and mobilisation efforts, encouraging officials and members to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements.
He also urged greater support for ethnic minority veterans, helping them adopt new ways of thinking and doing, overcome difficulties and improve their livelihoods through economic development.
The provincial leader emphasised the need for continued renewal in the association’s operations and methods, ensuring it effectively fulfils its role as a representative body that protects veterans’ rights and interests.
He encouraged close coordination with authorities in implementing key tasks, particularly in gratitude activities, new rural development, environmental protection, and helping members access loans to expand production.
Tuy also asked the association to remain active in maintaining social order and security, building disciplined and safe communities, and countering distorted and hostile narratives.
Tuy expressed his hope that the newly elected Executive Committee would demonstrate intelligence, unity, innovation, creativity and exemplary leadership, becoming a trusted pillar for veterans and communities across the province.
He also called on Party committees, local authorities, the Việt Nam Fatherland Front, socio-political organisations and the business community to offer stronger support, enabling the veterans’ association to operate more effectively and remain a reliable foundation for the Party, authorities and the people.
This, he said, would contribute to fulfilling the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term and the National Party Congress’ resolutions, supporting Quang Ngai’s goal of rapid, sustainable development as it enters a new era.
New executive committee appointed; Quảng Ngãi veterans’ association receives national commendations
At the 8ᵗʰ Congress of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Veterans’ Association, Major General Trần Đình Hướng, Standing Member of the Việt Nam Veterans’ Association and Deputy Head of the Central Veterans’ Affairs Committee, announced the Việt Nam Veterans’ Association’s decision to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Board and Inspection Committee for the 2025–2030 tenure.
The new Executive Committee comprises 35 members, with Nguyễn Tấn Lâm appointed as Chairman of the Provincial Veterans' Association for the 2025–2030 term.
On this occasion, the Việt Nam Veterans’ Association presented an Emulation Flag to the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Veterans’ Association in recognition of its outstanding achievements.
The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee also awarded Certificates of Merit to one organisation and three individuals for their excellent performance in association work and the “Exemplary Veterans” emulation movement during 2022–2025.
The Provincial Veterans’ Association presented Certificates of Merit to 34 individuals for their notable contributions to veterans’ affairs during the 2022–2027 tenure and the 2022–2025 period.
