During the 2026 New Year holiday (January 1–4, 2026), Quảng Ngãi’s tourism sector experienced a significant financial breakthrough, with total revenue reaching approximately VNĐ42.5 billion. This figure represents a remarkable 143 per cent increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Several key factors contributed to this surge in tourism revenue.
The province welcomed about 96,400 visitors, a 68 per cent year-on-year increase. This influx of people naturally drove up spending across various tourism sites and services.
Revenue was bolstered by strong demand for lodging, with approximately 67,480 guests staying in hotels and star-rated accommodations.
Notably, the Măng Đen ecological tourism area reached 100 per cent room capacity, while other areas maintained healthy occupancy rates of 65–70 per cent.
Local authorities directed businesses to strictly list and sell services at regulated prices, ensuring a transparent environment that protected consumer interests and encouraged spending.
Ensuring security and safety at destinations further enhanced the province's appeal.
The revenue growth was distributed across various segments, including sea and island tourism (Lý Sơn, Mỹ Khê, Sa Huỳnh), eco-tourism, and community-based tourism.
Cultural events and special programs organized for the New Year also played a vital role in attracting high-spending visitors.
