On October 28, the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee held a seminar on agricultural and marine economic development for 2026–2030, with a vision to 2045.

In his welcoming remarks, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hồ Văn Niên emphasized that Quảng Ngãi’s expanded development space combines the advantages of the central coastal region and the Central Highlands. This provides a foundation for developing marine-based industries and services in the east, while promoting specialty agriculture, medicinal plants, sustainable forestry and ecotourism in the west.

To capitalize on these advantages, the province has issued 11 thematic resolutions, including five related to agriculture, forestry, medicinal plants, the marine economy and national target programs. He called on experts, scientists, managers and businesses to propose practical, breakthrough solutions for production organization, raw material zones, science and technology, deep processing, resource protection and market expansion.
He affirmed the province’s commitment to considering and incorporating appropriate recommendations to promote rapid, sustainable development while protecting the environment, safeguarding national defense and security, and improving people’s livelihoods.
Deputy Minister Võ Văn Hưng praised the province’s initiative and strategic vision, highlighting its ability to connect diverse ecological regions, economic sectors and resources to create an integrated economic space, increase value and strengthen competitiveness.

He urged Quảng Ngãi to pursue three strategic breakthroughs: restructuring its development space and selecting competitive sectors and value chains; improving institutional frameworks, strengthening the leading role of businesses and mobilizing resources; and making science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and green transition key growth drivers.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment pledged to continue working with the province on policy development, resolving sectoral obstacles and connecting research institutes, training institutions and science and technology programs.
During the seminar, the Quảng Ngãi Department of Agriculture and Environment signed memoranda of understanding with 12 agricultural and environmental businesses to strengthen public-private cooperation, attract investment, promote technological applications and develop sustainable agricultural value chains.

Concluding the seminar, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Đỗ Tâm Hiển praised the contributions of experts, scientists, managers and businesses, noting that their recommendations would help refine the province’s development orientations and solutions for 2026–2030, with a vision to 2045.

He urged departments and local authorities to carefully review the seminar’s recommendations and translate them into practical measures, focusing on leveraging regional strengths, applying science and technology, attracting investment, developing value chains and increasing product value and household incomes, while conserving natural resources and protecting the environment to achieve rapid and sustainable development.
