Industrial production records strong growth in first half

QUẢNG NGÃI — Industrial production in Quảng Ngãi Province remained stable and posted strong growth in the first six months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, driven by gains in key manufacturing sectors.

The province’s two major industrial products both recorded positive growth. Refined petroleum products rose 4.4 per cent year-on-year as Bình Sơn Refining and Petrochemical JSC maintained high-capacity operations and the Dung Quất Biofuel Plant resumed production, supplying E10 RON95 biofuel to the market.

Steel output surged 45.5 per cent following the commissioning of the second production line at Hòa Phát Dung Quất Steel JSC, which has a total annual capacity of 5.6 million tonnes.

Several other industrial products also posted strong growth, including inductors, woodchips, processed seafood, leather footwear, fired bricks, refined sugar and confectionery products.

However, output declined in a number of sectors. Production of construction stone fell 16.4 per cent year-on-year, while industrial gas, commercial electricity, fertilisers and cassava starch also recorded decreases during the period.
