Quảng Ngãi launches 2026–2030 Digital Economy and Digital Society Development Plan

The Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Committee has issued Plan No. 289/KH-UBND to implement the Prime Minister's Decision No. 1033/QĐ-TTg, dated June 9, 2026, approving the National Digital Economy and Digital Society Development Program for 2026–2030.

The plan aims to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the national program while mobilizing resources and encouraging active participation from businesses, organizations, and communities in accelerating digital transformation.

By 2030, Quảng Ngãi targets building a dynamic digital economy driven by digital technologies, data, and artificial intelligence to enhance productivity, innovation, and the province's economic competitiveness.

The plan also seeks to develop an inclusive, safe, and modern digital society where all citizens can benefit from digital transformation.

Key digital economy targets include raising the digital economy's contribution to approximately 30% of the province's GRDP, supporting at least 5,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in digital transformation, increasing the value of cashless payments to 20–30 times GRDP, and expanding STEM enrolment to 30–40% of total higher education students.

For digital society development, the province aims to provide 100% of households with access to 1 Gbps fiber-optic broadband, achieve 5G coverage for at least 99% of the population, ensure all citizens aged 14 and above possess digital identity accounts, enable more than 70% of adults to use personal digital signatures, raise the proportion of people aged 15 and above with bank or authorized financial accounts to 95%, and provide basic digital skills training to at least 100,000 working-age people.
