A solemn ceremony was held to announce key resolutions and decisions issued by central and local authorities regarding the merger of provincial and commune-level administrative units
Quảng Ngãi – June 30, a solemn ceremony was held at the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quảng Ngãi Province.
The event announced key resolutions and decisions issued by central and local authorities regarding the merger of provincial and commune-level administrative units, the conclusion of operations of district-level administrative units, and the establishment of new Party and government organizations at the provincial and commune levels.
The ceremony was broadcast live and connected to 96 remote sites across communes, wards, and special zone in both Quảng Ngãi and Kon Tum provinces.

Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization, Lại Xuân Môn, officially announced:
The Party Central Committee's decision on the establishment of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Committee;
The National Assembly’s resolution on the establishment of the new province and cities;
The Politburo’s decision appointing the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Executive Committee for the 2020–2025 term;
Resolutions of the National Assembly and its Standing Committee regarding the termination of operations of district-level administrative units and the establishment of new communes, wards, and special zone under the province;
The decision of the Central Committee of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front on the establishment of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the new province;
The newly appointed Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Executive Committee for the 2020–2025 term includes 68 members.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân, was appointed as Secretary of the newly formed Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Committee for the 2020–2025 term.
The four appointed Deputy Secretaries of Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Committee include:
U Huấn - Standing Deputy Secretary and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies;
Nguyễn Đức Tuy - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council;
Nguyễn Hoàng Giang - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee;
Đinh Thị Hồng Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
Regarding the personnel of the Provincial People's Committee, three individuals have been appointed as Vice Chairpersons of the new Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Committee for the 2021–2026 term, including: Y Ngọc, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee (2021–2026 term), and Trần Phước Hiền and Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm - Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee (2021–2026 term).
A historic milestone
Comrade Nguyễn Xuân Thắng, Politburo Member, President of the Hồ Chí Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, emphasized that the reorganization of administrative units is a major policy of the Party and the State, demonstrating a long-term strategic vision.
Thắng highlighted the event as a historic milestone in the development of Quảng Ngãi Province in particular, and the country as a whole.
The merger of Kon Tum and Quảng Ngãi Provinces is part of a broader regional and national development strategy. This aims to create a new administrative unit with greater scale, potential, and capacity for breakthrough growth, positioning it as a key growth engine for the Central and Central Highlands regions and a driving force for national development.
The newly established Quảng Ngãi Province will possess dual advantages, harmoniously combining geopolitical depth with ecological and economic diversity.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân expressed the firm commitment to preserving and promoting the valuable legacy built by previous generations.
She reaffirmed the determination to cultivate political integrity, uphold ethical standards, and follow President Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, ethics, and lifestyle; to enhance leadership and governance capacity; to quickly adapt to societal changes; and to continue building a strong and transparent Party organization in the province.
Secretary Vân called for strong support and solidarity from all levels of Party committees, Party organizations, key leaders, cadres, Party members, the business community, and the people of the province.
With sincerity and openness, the province welcomes all contributions, ideas, and initiatives for the development of Quảng Ngãi – for the practical benefit of the people.
A new journey has officially begun – a journey that will bring challenges, pressures, obstacles, and also glory.
On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary Vân extended sincere gratitude for the consistent leadership and guidance from the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government, and the close attention of the Politburo and the Party Central Secretariat.
She also expressed deep appreciation for the support from ministries and central agencies, former provincial leaders, and most importantly, the trust and consensus of the people of both former provinces. This collective support will be a powerful driving force for the successful completion of this historic task.
Looking ahead, Quảng Ngãi earnestly hopes to continue receiving the attention, guidance, support, and favorable conditions from the Party Central Committee, the State, the General Secretary, and all comrades and compatriots nationwide.
