Quang Ngai participated in the 1st Meet Thailand

The conference was attended by about 400 domestic and foreign delegates. Attending the Conference were Mr.Nikorndej Balankura, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam, representatives of 5 Thai local governments; leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and affiliated agencies, leaders of the People's Committees of 14 provinces and cities across the country and representatives of departments, branches, localities and businesses from Thailand and Vietnam.

The delegation of Quang Ngai province led by Mr. Vo Phien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province attended the Conference.

The conference has two main sessions including Renewable Energy and Hi-Tech Agriculture and the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) - Promoting cooperation and supply chain integration. At these sessions, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, leaders of the provinces of Dien Bien, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, Nghe An, Da Nang, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Energy of Thailand, representatives of Thai corporations exchanged and gave many ideas to implement the above contents.

The Conference opened the Vietnam - Thailand typical product exhibition space with 40 product exhibition booths of enterprises of the two countries, attracting interest and participation in exchanges between the parties. At here, Quang Ngai province participated in the exhibition booth to introduce the province's OCOP products.

Along with the Conference are side activities, meetings between businesses of the two sides. Hoang Thinh Dat Joint Stock Company (Quang Ngai province) introduced the company's potentials, strengths and fields and provide information to Thai' investors who are interested in setting up manufacturing projects in Vietnam such as CP Group, SCG, INSEE. As reported, Thailand is currently the 9th largest foreign investor in Vietnam.

Currently, Quang Ngai province has 02 Thai enterprises that have invested in Dung Quat EZ and Quang Ngai industrial zones, including M.E.Nikkiso Vietnam-Dung Quat medical tube factory project by M.E.NIKKISO Co., Ltd. invested with a total investment capital of 44 million USD; Freetex Group Vietnam garment processing and manufacturing factory project, invested by Freetex Group Vietnam Co., Ltd with total investment capital of 13 million USD, operating in VSIP Industrial Park Quang Ngai.

In addition, there is 01 investor from Thailand, Thai Beverage Company Limited -ThaiBev buys shares of Saigon Beer Alcohol Beverage Corporation (Sabeco) which is operating the Factory of Saigon beer in Quang Phu Industrial Park, total investment capital is about 114.7 million USD.
