Leaders of Quảng Ngãi Province meet with Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG)
The meeting was attended by Hồ Văn Niên, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyễn Đức Tâm, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and a delegation from VRG led by Trần Công Kha, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors.
At the meeting, VRG reported on its production and business activities, which include rubber cultivation, harvesting and processing; rubberwood products; industrial park infrastructure development on converted rubber land; rubber-based industrial products; high-tech agriculture and renewable energy.

In Quảng Ngãi, three VRG-affiliated units are engaged in rubber cultivation, harvesting and processing, managing and exploiting 19,221.88 hectares of rubber plantations.
The Group said its operations have contributed to local economic growth, created stable employment and supported social welfare activities, helping improve the living conditions of local communities.
VRG identified Quảng Ngãi as one of its key locations for long-term development and proposed that the province facilitate research, surveys and investment proposals for renewable energy projects, with an estimated total investment of approximately VNĐ2.08 trillion.
The Group also plans to convert part of its rubber-growing area in Quảng Ngãi to high-tech agriculture on a scale of 2,800 hectares. This includes a 500-hectare high-tech agricultural production area and 2,300 hectares for high-tech agricultural projects suitable for perennial industrial crops and fruit trees.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hồ Văn Niên welcomed VRG’s investment proposals and asked relevant departments and agencies to carefully review legal regulations and the province’s development orientations before advising the Provincial People’s Committee on the proposals.
Regarding recommendations from Kon Tum Rubber Company, he requested relevant agencies to review outstanding difficulties, clarify the responsibilities of each party and propose appropriate solutions.
Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm expressed his appreciation for VRG’s contributions to local socio-economic development, particularly employment generation and social welfare.
He supported the group’s proposals to study and develop renewable energy and high-tech agriculture projects in line with the province’s planning orientations.

The Chairman asked VRG to provide specific information on the locations and land areas proposed for conversion so that relevant agencies could guide the necessary procedures in accordance with land regulations.
He also encouraged the Group to study the possibility of developing additional industrial parks in western Quảng Ngãi and investing in processing plants for large-scale agricultural production areas to increase product value and reduce the export of raw materials.
The Provincial People’s Committee affirmed its commitment to continuing to support VRG and its member companies in implementing projects and contributing to the province’s socio-economic development and social welfare efforts.
