QUẢNG NGÃI — Quảng Ngãi held a seminar on September 24 to discuss solutions for realising its goal of becoming an important growth pole in the Central Việt Nam–Central Highlands region, with a focus on unlocking development resources, removing bottlenecks and strengthening regional connectivity.
The seminar was attended by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Trần Phước Hiền, representatives of central ministries, provincial departments and agencies, experts, scientists and the business community.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền emphasized that the event comes as Quảng Ngãi enters a new development phase with higher goals and greater requirements.
It provided a forum for authorities, experts, scientists and businesses to assess opportunities and challenges, identify bottlenecks and propose mechanisms and solutions to create new growth drivers.
Under the Resolution of the 1ˢᵗ Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term, the province aims to become a fairly developed locality and an important growth pole in the Central Việt Nam–Central Highlands region by 2030.
It targets average annual GRDP growth of at least 10 per cent during the 2026–2030 period.

According to Trần Phước Hiền, Quảng Ngãi has a diverse development space stretching from mountainous and highland areas to the plains, coast and islands.
The province also has an industrial base centred on the Dung Quất Economic Zone, deep-water seaports and significant potential in marine economy, logistics, services and tourism.
Dung Quất Economic Zone continues to play an important role in the province’s development, alongside orientations to establish a national oil refining, petrochemical and energy centre.
The Lý Sơn–Măng Đen–Sa Huỳnh tourism spaces, together with transport, seaport and logistics infrastructure, are expected to strengthen connections between Quảng Ngãi, the Central Highlands and other central provinces.
The province is also working to improve the quality of public administration and the investment and business environment.
By 2030, Quảng Ngãi aims to rank among the top 20 provinces and centrally governed cities nationwide in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI).
At the seminar, representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Science and Technology, provincial Department of Finance, universities and relevant organisations presented papers on socio-economic development, energy, business innovation, green and sustainable manufacturing, regional connectivity, logistics and tourism.
The discussion session, themed “Removing bottlenecks for Quảng Ngãi to break through and become a growth pole,” focused on institutional and infrastructure barriers, resource mobilisation, human resources, science and technology, innovation, the development of the Dung Quất Economic Zone and the creation of new growth drivers.
