Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển inspects compensation and site clearance for VSIP projects
The VSIP I project covers nearly 560 hectares in Thọ Phong Commune. So far, more than 533 hectares, or over 95 per cent of the total area , have been cleared. The project currently has 45 secondary investors, with total registered investment of about US$1.5 billion, generating nearly 40,000 jobs. More than 26 hectares remain uncleared.
The VSIP II project covers over 497 hectares in Đông Sơn Commune. Compensation has been completed for more than 145 hectares, or over 29 per cent of the project area, with more than VNĐ425 billion paid to 1,078 households. However, over 132 hectares for which compensation has already been paid have yet to complete land-lease procedures due to remaining uncleared plots.

Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển requested Thọ Phong Commune, the Land Fund Development Center and VSIP Quảng Ngãi to accelerate site clearance for VSIP I. For the 23.97-hectare eastern area, the compensation plan must be approved by September 30, with the site fully handed over in October. For the 14.56-hectare western area, coercive enforcement decisions must be issued by September 30 and implemented in October. The remaining three hectares of agricultural land must be submitted for approval by October 30.
Regarding VSIP II, he noted that progress remained slow and requested Đông Sơn Commune to coordinate with relevant agencies to complete agricultural land clearance in Areas A and B in October. Relevant agencies were instructed to carry out tasks in parallel and prioritize key areas and the main road corridor.

The Vice Chairman also requested VSIP Quảng Ngãi to promptly take over cleared land for project implementation; relevant departments to resolve land-related issues in accordance with regulations; and the Dung Quất Economic Zone and Quảng Ngãi Industrial Parks Authority to closely monitor progress and strive to basically complete land allocation for cleared areas in October.
