Provincial leaders chair a meeting to review the implementation of the province's key infrastructure and socio-economic development projects
QUẢNG NGÃI — Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Committee Hồ Văn Niên chaired a meeting on Thursday to review the implementation of the province's key infrastructure and socio-economic development projects, while discussing measures to accelerate site clearance for the North–South high-speed railway project.
The meeting brought together Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm, provincial leaders, members of the Steering Committee, and representatives of relevant departments and local authorities.
According to the Steering Committee, Quảng Ngãi is currently monitoring 21 major projects, including 11 public investment projects and 10 privately funded projects.
Since the previous meeting, authorities have reported progress in land acquisition, compensation, land allocation and leasing, construction activities, and public investment disbursement.
Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm speaks at the meeting
Addressing the meeting, Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm instructed the Department of Construction to review obstacles facing each project and locality and promptly propose solutions.
He also urged investors, local authorities and contractors to strengthen coordination in compensation and site clearance while enhancing public communication to build consensus among residents.
The chairman assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to provide detailed guidance on compensation, support and resettlement policies within its jurisdiction.
He also called on project investors to complete administrative procedures to speed up capital disbursement, prioritise projects with strong disbursement potential in August 2026, and ensure an adequate supply of construction materials.
Preparations for compensation, site clearance and resettlement for the North–South high-speed railway section passing through Quảng Ngãi should also be accelerated, he said, stressing that public investment disbursement would remain a key indicator in evaluating the performance of government agencies and local authorities.
Secretary Hồ Văn Niên delivers remarks at the meeting
Concluding the meeting, Party Secretary Hồ Văn Niên commended departments, sectors and localities for their efforts in advancing the province's key projects, noting that many had made encouraging progress after overcoming initial challenges.
He urged all agencies to maintain strong leadership, take greater responsibility and implement assigned tasks decisively to ensure projects remain on schedule.
Detailed implementation plans, with clear responsibilities and deadlines, should be developed for each project to facilitate monitoring and supervision.
The Party chief also called for streamlined appraisal procedures to shorten administrative processing times and accelerate project implementation.
The Department of Construction, as the standing agency of the Steering Committee, was tasked with regularly monitoring project progress, reviewing implementation results and reporting to the committee at its next meeting scheduled for October 2026.
Regarding privately funded projects, Hồ Văn Niên requested provincial departments and local authorities to continue working closely with investors, particularly in land clearance and resettlement, while promptly addressing investment and land-related administrative issues to facilitate project implementation and support the province's socio-economic development.
