On September 22, the Provincial Party Standing Committee held a working session with the Party Committee of the Department of Education and Training (DoET) to review the implementation of tasks and key directions for the coming period.

Reported by the Party Committee of the Department of Education and Training, in 2026, Quảng Ngãi’s education sector is undertaking three major tasks simultaneously: stabilizing the education system following the provincial merger; streamlining the network of educational institutions; and shifting from education management to educational development governance in line with Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW. This represents a crucial foundation for achieving the province’s education targets through 2030.

The Department’s Party Committee currently has 12 affiliated Party cells, including seven administrative Party cells, with 169 Party members. The education sector has 66 grassroots Party organizations with 2,531 Party members. Since July 1, 2025, 425 new Party members have been admitted.
The Party Committee of the DoET has regularly directed the strengthening of management, inspection and supervision of educational tasks, while advising competent authorities on policies for students and teachers, investment in facilities and teaching equipment, and the application of information technology in management and teaching.
At the beginning of the 2026–2027 academic year, the province had 528 institutions providing preschool, general, continuing, vocational and professional education, with more than 456,000 students and learners, over 14,400 classes, and more than 31,000 managers, lecturers, teachers and staff.
Under Decision No. 627/QĐ-UBND of the Provincial People’s Committee approving the overall plan, the number of public educational institutions has been reduced from 887 to 478, a decrease of more than 46 per cent.
In 2026, the education sector continued to record positive results. At the National Excellent Student Selection Examination, 72 out of 180 Quảng Ngãi contestants won prizes. At the traditional April 30 Olympic Competition, Lê Khiết High School for the Gifted ranked 8th out of 131 teams, while Nguyễn Tất Thành High School for the Gifted ranked 25th.
The movement to develop digital lectures and apply digital technology in teaching has attracted strong participation, with more than 1,460 entries and over 93 per cent meeting required standards.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hồ Văn Niên praised the results achieved by the Party Committee of the DoET and its proactive leadership and implementation of tasks.

He requested the Party Committee of the DoET to further innovate its leadership and direction in a more focused, specific and effective manner; concentrate on major issues while proactively identifying and promptly addressing emerging problems.
Regarding Party building, he called for maintaining unity and consensus, strictly observing the Party’s organizational principles, and promoting the leadership role and exemplary responsibility of heads of Party committees.
Regarding political tasks, Secretary Hồ Văn Niên requested the education sector to continue concretizing and effectively implementing resolutions, conclusions, programs and plans of the Central Government and the province on education and training, with a focus on Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
The education sector should continue to strongly innovate teaching, testing and assessment methods; improve the quality of both mass and advanced education; and focus on substantive quality and the comprehensive development of learners.
At the same time, the sector should step up the application of information technology and comprehensive digital transformation. Investment should be prioritized for schools, with facilities and infrastructure developed to adequately meet students’ needs for accommodation, daily life and concentrated learning.
