Meeting held to accelerate land clearance and administrative procedures for major power transmission projects
QUẢNG NGÃI — Quảng Ngãi Province has directed relevant agencies and local authorities to accelerate land clearance and administrative procedures for major power transmission projects to ensure a stable electricity supply and support the province's future economic development.
The directive was issued by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trần Phước Hiền during a meeting on Wednesday to review compensation, land clearance and land lease procedures for power transmission projects invested by the electricity sector, as well as investor approval for several new grid projects.
The Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) is implementing 10 110kV power grid projects in Quảng Ngãi during the 2025–2026 period, with a combined investment of more than VNĐ917 billion.
Three projects have already been completed and energised, while the remaining projects are expected to be commissioned between 2027 and 2030.
Five projects are currently facing delays due to difficulties in compensation and site clearance, including the Dung Quất 2 220kV Substation and Dung Quất–Dung Quất 2 transmission line, the Mỹ Khê 110kV Substation and connection line, the Bình Nguyên–Quảng Ngãi 110kV transmission line upgrade, and two projects to restore the safe operation of the Tam Anh–Dốc Sỏi 110kV transmission line.
Project investors and local authorities reported that most projects have completed key administrative procedures, including boundary demarcation, land recovery notifications, site surveys and asset inventories. Some projects have already been completed and put into operation.
However, several issues remain unresolved, particularly those related to land classification, land ownership verification, cadastral documentation, compensation and site clearance.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền acknowledged the efforts of provincial departments and local authorities in coordinating with the electricity sector to complete several key projects, helping ensure a safe and reliable power supply for investment attraction and socio-economic development.
He stressed that power grid projects play a vital role in maintaining electricity security and transmitting power from generation projects.
Local authorities were therefore instructed to work closely with the electricity sector to identify obstacles, clarify responsibilities and implement practical solutions without delay.
The Vice Chairman urged relevant authorities to resolve all outstanding issues related to compensation and land clearance within 2026 in order to accelerate construction progress and bring the projects into operation as soon as possible.
Regarding proposals to approve investors for the Bờ Y 220kV Substation 110kV connection line, the VSIP 2 110kV Substation and its connection line, and the Nghĩa Hà 110kV Substation and its connection line, he assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to continue assisting investors in completing project dossiers for submission to the Provincial People's Committee in accordance with regulations.
