Quảng Ngãi reviews nine-month performance, sets year-end priorities

QUẢNG NGÃI — The Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Committee held its 5ᵗʰ meeting of the 2025–2030 term on October 2 to review socio-economic development and Party-building work during the first nine months of 2026 and set key tasks for the final quarter of the year.

The meeting was chaired by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hồ Văn Niên, Standing Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee U Huấn, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Đức Tuy, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm, and Deputy Secretary and Head of the provincial National Assembly delegation Đinh Thị Hồng Minh.

According to the report presented at the meeting, Quảng Ngãi’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased by an estimated 9.16 per cent in the first nine months of 2026 compared with the same period last year.

Industrial production maintained positive growth, while retail sales of goods and consumer services rose by 15.1 per cent.

Export turnover increased by 41.7 per cent, while import turnover grew by 5 per cent.

Revenue from transportation, warehousing and supporting transport services was estimated to increase by 44.11 per cent.

The province also continued to prioritise transport infrastructure, urban development and social housing.

Efforts to manage and reorganise public offices and assets were strengthened, alongside natural resource management, environmental protection and climate change adaptation.

Digital transformation remained a notable area of progress. All provincial- and commune-level work files were processed electronically, while all agencies sent and received digitally signed electronic documents.

In the social sector, the province organised more than 290 social welfare activities during the nine-month period, mobilising and distributing over VNĐ9.4 billion to support more than 61,800 people from poor and near-poor households, policy families and other disadvantaged groups.

The meeting also reviews Party-building work.

Regarding Party-building work, during the first nine months of 2026, the Provincial Party Committee issued 11 thematic resolutions and continued to strengthen organisational arrangements, coordination mechanisms and digital transformation within the political system.

Nearly 2,230 new Party members were admitted, reaching more than 75.3 per cent of the annual target.

For the final three months of 2026, Secretary Hồ Văn Niên called for stronger efforts to remove bottlenecks and achieve the highest possible results across the year’s targets.

He requested authorities at all levels to focus on promoting economic growth, increasing state budget revenue, accelerating public investment disbursement and ensuring the effective implementation of key projects.

Departments and localities were also asked to work closely with businesses and investors and resolve difficulties related to compensation and site clearance, resettlement, land prices, construction materials and investment procedures.

The province will also continue reviewing and handling surplus public assets following organisational restructuring, strengthening environmental protection and climate change adaptation, and ensuring stable conditions for education and healthcare, particularly in mountainous and border areas.

The Secretary called on Party members, officials and heads of agencies and localities to maintain close contact with the grassroots level, strengthen coordination and resolve outstanding issues, with the goal of completing the 2026 targets and tasks to the highest possible extent.
