QUẢNG NGÃI — Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm met with Sao Mai Agricultural Products Processing Joint Stock Company in Kon Tum Ward on September 27 to discuss its production plans, expansion proposals and solutions to business-related difficulties.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm and leaders of provincial departments and agencies.
Operating since August 2025, the company’s agricultural and medicinal herb processing plant has a fruit-processing capacity of around 10,000 tonnes a year.
Its products are exported to markets in the European Union, the United States, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The facility also produces medicinal and fruit wines, with a capacity of 500,000 litres annually, and up to 15 tonnes of organic cordyceps mushrooms.
The company has purchased more than 10,000 tonnes of passion fruit and other fruits and established links with over 120 collection points, cooperatives and farming households. It has invested in or partnered to develop 581.7 hectares of raw-material growing areas across several localities in the province.
Sao Mai is also expanding its cultivation partnerships, including passion fruit intercropping on rubber plantations and pineapple production.
The company expects revenue to reach approximately VNĐ350 billion in 2026, including VNĐ310 billion from exports.
A new canned and packaged fruit juice production line, with an estimated investment of VNĐ300 billion, is under construction and is expected to begin operations in September 2027. The company targets revenue of VNĐ1 trillion in 2027.
At the meeting, the company proposed accelerating site clearance for the second phase of its project, improving industrial park infrastructure, including access roads, clean water supply and wastewater treatment, and making additional land available for warehouses and raw-material storage.

Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm affirmed that the province would work with the company to address these issues and facilitate its expansion.
He asked local authorities to complete the handover of the second-phase site in October 2026 and accelerate infrastructure development.
He also agreed in principle to facilitate the company’s lease of an additional 33 hectares of land for production expansion, subject to completing the required procedures.
The company was encouraged to consider investing in a coffee-processing line to increase the value of local agricultural products.
The Chairman called for closer cooperation among the company, local authorities and farmers in developing raw-material areas.
He stressed the need to ensure the quality and reasonable prices of planting materials, reliable fertiliser supplies and fulfilment of commitments to purchase farmers’ produce.
He also asked the company to pay attention to social welfare in areas where it invests and develops production partnerships.
