Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm inspects the progress of several major transport projects

Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm on November 7 inspected the progress of several major transport projects and urged relevant agencies and contractors to step up construction and resolve site clearance bottlenecks.

Accompanied by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Công Hoàng and representatives of relevant departments and agencies, the Chairman inspected the second phase of the Dung Quất – Sa Hùynh coastal road project and the Hoàng Sa – Dốc Sỏi road project, both invested by the provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.

For the first component of Phase IIa of the Dung Quất – Sa Hùynh coastal road project, 98 per cent of the route’s site clearance has been completed, while construction progress has reached 93.3 per cent of the contract value.

Asphalt paving has been completed on 11.4km of the 13.28km route, equivalent to 85 per cent of the total length.

Disbursement has reached 84.9 per cent of the capital allocated for 2026.

However, compensation and site clearance remain outstanding for five households covering 14 land plots, as the landowners have yet to agree to receive compensation and hand over their land.

For Phase IIb, construction has reached 91.9 per cent of the contract value, while capital disbursement stands at 77 per cent of the 2026 allocation.

One household has yet to agree to the compensation and site handover.

Both project components are expected to disburse 100 per cent of their allocated capital by the end of 2026.

Meanwhile, the Hoàng Sa – Dốc Sỏi road project has completed site handover for 88.5 per cent of its route, with construction reaching 42.6 per cent of the contract value.

Discontinuous site handover and the lack of access roads for construction at some sections have affected the progress of work.

Following the inspection, Chairman Tâm directed project investors to work closely with relevant departments and local authorities to promptly resolve compensation and site clearance obstacles, enabling contractors to accelerate construction.

He asked commune and ward authorities to urgently complete the necessary verification procedures and documents to facilitate the preparation, appraisal and approval of compensation plans for the remaining areas along the main routes, resettlement sites and cemetery relocation areas.

The Provincial Land Fund Development Centre was also instructed to speed up procedures, publicly disclose compensation plans and submit them for appraisal and approval, particularly for the remaining agricultural and non-agricultural land.

The Chairman urged project investors to mobilise sufficient personnel, machinery and equipment, and organise simultaneous construction in areas where land has been handed over.

Contractors were asked to make the most of favourable weather conditions to increase construction volumes and ensure the projects remain on schedule.

He stressed that the province would not extend the implementation period of the second phase of the Dung Quất – Sa Hùynh coastal road project, requiring the investor and contractors to mobilise all necessary resources to complete it as scheduled.
