The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has just signed Decision No. 1614/QD-UBND on declaring an emergency situation regarding natural disasters (mountain cracks, high risk of landslides) in Residential Area Group 4, Tra Linh Village, Huong Tra Commune, Tra Bong District.
Residential area of group 4, Tra Linh village, Huong Tra commune has 40 households with 169 people located at the foot of a very steep mountainside.
Due to prolonged rain and floods, cracks have appeared on this mountainside, causing landslides blocking the traffic route. Soil and rocks have flowed down to the areas below, endangering many households in the area.
After heavy rains in October, November and December 2024, this location continues to have new cracks, increasing the risk of landslides, directly threatening the safety of housing and the lives of 40 households with 169 people of ethnic minorities.
In the coming time, heavy rains will probably occur and thus there will be a very high risk of continued landslides threatening the safety of many households in Residential Area Group 4, Tra Linh Village, Huong Tra Commune, Tra Bong District.
The PPC’s chairman directed the implementation of tasks as follows:
Regularly and closely monitor the developments of heavy rain and landslide areas.
Promptly notify and evacuate 40 households with 169 people in the landslide area to a safe place.
Arrange to ensure food and necessary necessities for people at the evacuation site.
Strengthen information and communication so that people will be aware of the risks of heavy rain and landslides and will proactively take preventive and response measures.
Put up warning signs, delineate dangerous areas, arrange guards, and guide people and vehicles through landslide areas to ensure safety when there is heavy rain..
Regularly update the landslide situation and the level of impact, and report to the Provincial People's Committee (through the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue) for monitoring and timely direction.
When the locality has completed measures to ensure safety for people at the above-mentioned high-risk landslide points, the Chairman of the Tra Bong District People's Committee is responsible for reporting and requesting the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to consider announcing the end of the emergency situation.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Tra Bong district shall urgently mobilize local resources to organize the implementation of the contents of this Decision to ensure the safety of people and property of the People and the State in the area.
The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue is requested to monitor the developments of heavy rain, and promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct the implementation of response measures, ensuring the safety of people and property in the above-mentioned areas.
They will submit to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee a decision to end the emergency situation of natural disasters (mountain cracks, high risk of landslides) in the residential area of Group 4, Tra Linh village, Huong Tra commune, Tra Bong district upon report and request from the Tra Bong district People's Committee.
The Departments of Finance, Planning and Investment, Natural Resources and Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Transport, Construction and the Provincial Military Command, according to their assigned functions and tasks, shall proactively coordinate and support the People's Committee of Tra Bong district to organize the implementation of the above landslide handling tasks when requested by the locality.
