PeaceTrees Vietnam worked with Quang Ngai DoFA

On July 20, 2023, the delegation of PeaceTrees - an American NGO led by Ms. Pham Thi Hoang Ha, PeaceTrees Vietnam Country Director, worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs of Quang Ngai province (DoFA) to exchange opportunities for cooperation and support activities related to overcoming the consequences of war in Quang Ngai province.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed the needs of demining in Quang Ngai, the possibility of sponsoring communication projects, scholarship support, livelihood financing for people in districts at risk of unexploded ordnance. This is the first step for the two sides to exchange and expand the scope of activities of PeaceTrees in Central Vietnam.
PeaceTrees Vietnam is the first foreign NGO to be licensed to operate in Viet Nam in the field of mine clearance. PeaceTrees Vietnam core work is transforming central Vietnam by sponsoring the clearance of explosive remnants of war.
Since its inception in 1995, PeaceTrees has successfully eliminated more than 110,000 hazardous landmines, cluster bombs, mortar shells, and grenades, clearing a vast area of over 2,810 acres of land from danger; supported 3,628 scholarships for poor students; constructed 22 kindergartens, 12 libraries and 100 compassion houses; planted 48,439 green trees across provinces of Quang Binh and Quang Tri.
