QUẢNG NGÃI — The Provincial People’s Committee is completing final preparations for a series of cultural and tourism events to welcome the New Year 2026, ensuring they are held safely, smoothly and with high quality.
Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang chaired a meeting on December 29 with leaders of provincial departments and agencies to review preparations for the upcoming New Year celebrations. The meeting was also attended by Vice Chairmen Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm and Đỗ Tâm Hiển.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, preparations have so far been implemented largely in line with the approved plans.
The Quảng Ngãi Art Programme – Welcoming New Year 2026, themed “Aspiration of the Great Sea,” is scheduled to take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 31, 2025, at Phạm Văn Đồng Square in Cẩm Thành Ward.
Another art programme, themed “Breath of the Great Highlands,” will be held at the same time at March 16 Square in Kon Tum Ward.
In addition, the opening ceremony of the Măng Đen Culture and Tourism Week 2026, themed “Pink Shades amid the Great Forest,” will be held at 7:30 p.m. on January 1, 2026, in the centre of Măng Đen Commune.
A series of related activities will run from January 1 to January 4, 2026.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has assigned specific responsibilities to staff for each event and closely coordinated with relevant agencies on scripting, stage setup, sound and lighting, communications, security, traffic safety, fire prevention and other support services for residents and visitors.
Final rehearsals and last-minute checks are currently underway at all venues.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman Nguyễn Hoàng Giang requested the Department of Construction to urgently address landslide-prone areas and repair damaged sections along National Highway 24A to ensure smooth and safe traffic, particularly on routes connecting to the Măng Đen area during the holiday period.
He also asked the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue reviewing all preparations, proactively coordinate with relevant departments and local authorities, and promptly handle any arising issues to ensure that New Year events are held in a safe, dignified and festive manner, creating a joyful atmosphere for residents and visitors welcoming the New Year 2026.
