At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the implementation of WVI-funded programs and projects in the province in recent years and discussed orientations for future cooperation.

WVI is a foreign non-governmental organization operating in multiple fields, including food security and agriculture; clean water and sanitation; sustainable renewable energy; microfinance and economic development; disaster risk reduction and emergency relief; climate change; education and early childhood development; child protection; healthcare; anti-human trafficking; support for disadvantaged children; and advocacy for children’s rights.

In Quảng Ngãi, WVI has been operating since 2004, implementing numerous programs and projects with a total committed value of over VNĐ 290 billion. These activities have focused on education, healthcare, agriculture, household economic development, emergency relief, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation.

Currently, WVI is funding five programs in 13 eastern communes of the province, with an estimated budget of approximately VNĐ 136 billion for the 2025–2027 period.

WVI’s programs and projects have contributed to improving living conditions, easing hardships for communities in project areas, gradually changing community awareness and practices, and promoting socio-economic development, particularly for children, women, and vulnerable households.

At the meeting, WVI representatives shared plans for upcoming programs and projects and expressed their hope for continued attention, coordination, and support from the provincial authorities and relevant departments to ensure effective and practical implementation.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Y Ngọc briefed participants on Quảng Ngãi’s situation after the administrative merger, emphasizing the province’s consistent priority on socio-economic development, especially in mountainous and disadvantaged areas.

The province has focused on investing in infrastructure, particularly in education, healthcare, transport, agriculture, and rural development, while strengthening the capacity of grassroots leadership and implementing comprehensive measures to improve livelihoods and living standards.

She acknowledged and appreciated WVI’s effective partnership in poverty reduction and in improving living conditions in project areas. At the same time, she affirmed that Quảng Ngãi Province will continue to facilitate favorable conditions for WVI’s operations and requested relevant departments and localities to maintain close coordination, assess practical needs, and propose appropriate programs to ensure social security and sustainable development.
