On December 17, the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Women’s Union held the first Provincial Women’s Congress for the 2025–2030 term. Attending the Congress was Nguyễn Thị Minh Hương, Vice President of the Việt Nam Women’s Union.
During the past term, women’s union organizations at all levels actively renewed their operating methods, strengthened grassroots engagement and achieved notable results, fulfilling and exceeding all eight targets set by the previous Congress.
More than 60,900 women members were recognized as outstanding individuals, while over 2,700 collectives and 5,000 individuals were commended for excellence in women’s union activities. Organizational development was strengthened with nearly 29,700 new members and around 1,000 honorary members admitted.
Key movements and campaigns such as “Building Quảng Ngãi Women” and “Five No’s, Three Clean Families” were implemented effectively, contributing to improving rural and urban living standards and enhancing the quality of life for women and families.
Social welfare programs recorded significant outcomes, including “A Million Gifts of Compassion,” “Godmother Program,” and “Accompanying Women in Border Areas.” The “Godmother Program” alone supported more than 940 orphaned children.
The Women’s Union also mobilized resources to build “Houses of Gratitude” and actively participated in the campaign to eliminate substandard housing across the province.
For the 2025–2030 term, the Provincial Women’s Union set key targets such as supporting 9 to 11 women's households to escape poverty annually, developing women-managed livelihood models and cooperatives, expanding the “Five No’s, Three Clean, Three Safe Families” model, timely assistance for women and children affected by violence, recruiting over 26,000 new members, and enhancing digital capacity and international integration for women cadres and members.
Addressing the Congress, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial NA Deputies Delegation, and Chairman of the Provincial Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee, U Huấn, called on women’s union organizations to continue renewing their content and methods of operation in a practical and effective manner, placing women members at the center, strengthening grassroots engagement, and proactively addressing members’ legitimate needs.
