Meeting of former and current NA Deputies of Quảng Ngãi Province on the occasion of 80th Anniversary of Việt Nam’s First General Election

On the afternoon of December 16, the Quảng Ngãi Provincial National Assembly (NA) Delegation held a meeting with former and current NA deputies to commemorate the 80^th anniversary of Việt Nam’s first General Election to elect the NA (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026) and to review the delegation’s performance during the 2021–2026 term.

The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the NA Trần Quang Phương, senior central and provincial leaders, former leaders of the provincial NA delegation, and NA deputies of Quảng Ngãi across various terms.

Speaking at the conference, Head of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial NA Delegation U Huấn highlighted the historic significance of the first General Election in 1946, which marked the maturity of the revolutionary Vietnamese State and affirmed the legitimacy of a "State of the people, by the people and for the people.”

Over the past 80 years, through 15 terms, the NA has continuously strengthened its role as the highest representative body of the People and the highest state authority.

The conference reviewed the delegation’s activities during the 2021–2026 term, noting its active participation in law-making, supervision, questioning, voter engagement, and the handling of citizens’ petitions.

Many recommendations of the delegation were considered and addressed by the NA, the Government and central ministries, contributing to local socio-economic development.

Addressing the meeting, Vice Chairman of the NA Trần Quang Phương reaffirmed the NA's role in  building a socialist rule-of-law state, and promoting national development. He called on NA deputies to remain close to voters, prepare well for the 16^th NA election, and contribute effectively to the 14^th National Party Congress.

On this occasion, three collectives and ten individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee for their outstanding contributions to the activities of the 15^th NA Delegation of Quảng Ngãi Province.
