On October 22, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm chaired a meeting of the provincial steering committees for key socio-economic development projects.

Scene of the meeting
Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm commended the efforts of provincial departments, project management boards and local authorities but noted that several projects remained behind schedule. He called for stronger action, emphasizing that the remaining time in 2026 was limited while the workload was substantial.
He urged all relevant agencies to proactively resolve obstacles and fulfill their assigned tasks, contributing to provincial economic growth. Implementation must follow the “six clear” principle: clear personnel, tasks, timelines, responsibilities, authority and results, with the goal of disbursing 100 per cent of the assigned public investment plan.
Investors must review outstanding work, set firm deadlines and assign clear responsibilities. Communes and wards were asked to closely monitor progress, promptly report obstacles and complete compensation and site clearance in line with committed schedules.
For projects where sites have been handed over, project management boards must ensure that contractors mobilize sufficient resources to accelerate construction. Local authorities must strengthen on-site supervision and promptly report emerging difficulties and propose solutions.

The Chairman also stressed that all departments, localities, investors and project management boards must take responsibility, proactively coordinate and handle matters within their authority, avoiding delays and shifting responsibility. Every assigned task must have a specific deadline and clearly defined accountability.
Reports presented at the meeting showed progress following the previous meeting’s conclusions. Construction and disbursement increased across several transport projects. The province had completed preparations for the groundbreaking of Trà Khúc 1 Bridge and finalized the pre-feasibility study report for the Quảng Ngãi–Kon Tum Expressway for submission to the competent authorities. Some privately funded projects had also recorded progress in compensation and site clearance.

For the North–South high-speed railway section passing through Quảng Ngãi, relevant agencies are preparing detailed plans for resettlement areas and cemetery relocation sites. They are also completing the feasibility study dossier for compensation, support, resettlement and relocation of technical infrastructure for appraisal and approval.
