Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Committee Đỗ Tâm Hiển has signed a directive requiring provincial departments, agencies, the Provincial Land Fund Development Center, and People's Committees of communes, wards and special administrative zones to strengthen environmental incident prevention and response for the 2026 rainy and storm season.

Relevant agencies are tasked with intensifying inspections and supervision of wastewater treatment systems, wastewater reservoirs, tailings ponds and waste storage facilities to ensure their safe operation during the rainy season. They are also required to assess environmental risks, publicly disclose potential sources of environmental incidents in accordance with regulations, and develop and implement waste incident response plans.
Organizations, enterprises and production and business establishments with potential environmental risks must prepare waste incident response plans in line with Circular No. 41/2025/TT-BNNMT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. They are required to conduct regular inspections, adopt technical and management measures to minimize risks, and pay particular attention to waste disposal sites, reservoirs, and facilities in the mining, chemical, fertilizer, thermal power, steel and waste treatment sectors.
The directive also requires affected entities to ensure adequate emergency equipment and facilities, establish and train on-site response teams, organize emergency drills, and promptly report and respond to any environmental incident in accordance with regulations.
The Dung Quất Economic Zone and Quảng Ngãi Industrial Parks Authority, together with local authorities, have been assigned to monitor implementation, inspect compliance, and promptly report any difficulties to the Provincial People's Committee through the Department of Agriculture and Environment for further direction.
