Quang Ngai, April 9 - Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Hoang Giang, along with leaders from relevant departments, agencies, and localities, conducted an on-site inspection of two major infrastructure projects: the Tra Khuc 3 Bridge and connecting road from Son Tinh District Center to Tu Nghia District, and the Northern Tra Khuc Riverbank Anti-Erosion and Land Development Project passing through Tinh An and Tinh Long communes in Quang Ngai City.
The Tra Khuc 3 Bridge and Road Project spans a total length of 2.55 km, with 1.71 km within Tu Nghia District and 0.84 km within Son Tinh District.
Reportedly, approximately 94 per cent of the construction work has been completed. Remaining items are being expedited to meet the proposed timeline.
Once finished, the project is expected to improve inter-district transportation, ease traffic congestion on major national highways such as National Route 1 and Route 24B, and stimulate socio-economic development in neighboring areas.
To ensure the project is completed in time to commemorate the 21st Provincial Party Congress (2025–2030 term), the project owner has proposed the competent authorities finalize procedures to officially name the bridge, and consider upgrading the provincial road No. 8 in accordance with approved plans.
During the inspection, Chairman Nguyen Hoang Giang praised the efforts of the investor and construction units.
He emphasized the need to accelerate construction progress and meet the committed deadlines.
He tasked the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism with completing legal procedures for naming the bridge, and the Department of Construction with reviewing documents to propose the upgrade of the provincial road, ensuring better connectivity and infrastructure efficiency for the Tra Khuc 3 Bridge.
The second project, the Northern Tra Khuc Riverbank Anti-Erosion and Land Development Project, includes a 2,440-meter embankment and associated technical infrastructure.
To date, 98 per cent of the land has been handed over to the contractor, and approximately 91 per cent of the contracted work value has been completed.
At the site, Chairman Giang underlined the strategic significance of both projects, highlighting their roles in improving transportation networks, urban development, and disaster prevention.
He stated that timely completion is not only crucial for investment efficiency and technical quality but also carries political importance in celebrating the upcoming Party Congress.
Chairman Giang urged project stakeholders to intensify efforts, resolve outstanding issues related to legal procedures, land clearance, and planning to ensure both projects will be completed on schedule and in line with the city’s development strategy.
