On March 21, at October 8 Square in Nguyen Nghiem Ward, Duc Pho Town, the Town Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Duc Pho Town solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Duc Pho Liberation Day (March 23, 1975 - March 23, 2025) and the 5th anniversary of Duc Pho Town's establishment (2020 - 2025).
The event was attended by Senior Lieutenant General, Tran Quang Phuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Dinh Thi Hong Minh, former provincial leaders from various periods, members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders from departments and localities, as well as Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, veteran revolutionary cadres, and a large number of local residents.
At the celebration, Duc Pho City Party Secretary, Do Tam Hien, delivered a speech reviewing the town's heroic, resilient, and indomitable fighting spirit and its development over the past 50 years during the commemoration ceremony.
Over the last five years, Duc Pho town has significantly improved, particularly in terms of transportation and urban infrastructure.
The local economy has experienced continuous high growth rates.
By 2024, the total production value was projected to reach nearly 55 trillion VND, which is 1,044 times higher than in 1975, 46.2 times higher than in 2005, and six times higher than in 2015.
The economic structure has shifted positively, with the proportion of industry, construction, and services increasing from 11.98 per cent in 1975 to 88.7 per cent in 2024.
By the end of 2024, the average production value per capita was expected to reach 283 million VND, and the poverty rate in the town was anticipated to decrease to 2.2 per cent.
In her speech at the celebration, the Secretary of Provincial Party’s Committee, Bui Thi Quynh Van, praised Duc Pho town's achievements in the past 50 years and emphasized the importance of unity and innovation for continued development.
She urged the town's leaders to prioritize Party building, infrastructure development, and economic growth through digital and green transformation.
Additionally, she highlighted the need to enhance solidarity, overcome challenges, and ensure social security and national defense.
With the achievements, at the Celebration Ceremony, the Party Committee, government and people of Duc Pho town were honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.
Attending the event, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, together with member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van presented the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to the Party Committee, government and people of Duc Pho town.
