Quảng Ngãi - Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee on June 26 held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister’s decision recognizing Mộ Đức District as meeting the national new rural development standards in 2024.
The ceremony was chaired by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Trần Phước Hiền .
After 13 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, with strong support from provincial authorities and active engagement from the entire political system and local communities, Mộ Đức district has successfully met all required criteria.
All 12 communes in the district have been recognized as new rural communes, including 3 advanced-level communes. Mộ Đức Town has been certified as a civilized urban area.
The district’s average per capita income has exceeded VNĐ 52 million per year, and the poverty rate has decreased to 2.41 per cent.
Mộ Đức is also known for its OCOP (One Commune, One Product) achievements, with 52 certified products, including three 4-star and forty-nine 3-star products.
On June 20, 2025, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1207/QD-TTg officially recognizing Mộ Đức as a new rural district. This makes it the third district in Quảng Ngãi Province to achieve the status, following Nghĩa Hành and Tư Nghĩa.
At the ceremony, Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền presented the recognition certificate to Mộ Đức District and congratulated the local Party Committee, authorities, and residents on their remarkable efforts and achievements in building a modern and sustainable rural area.
