Central Steering Committee for Science, Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation reviews six months of operation

On July 2, General Secretary Tô Lâm, Head of the Central Steering Committee for Science, Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation, chaired the conference to review operation of the Committee in the first six months of the year and plan key tasks for the last six months.

Attending the conference at the Quảng Ngãi bridge point were Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation U Huấn, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyễn Đức Tuy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Đinh Thị Hồng Minh.

Reported at the conference, a representative of the Central Steering Committee emphasized that Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo has strategic significance, demonstrating the political determination of the Party and the State in promoting the development of science and technology, , innovation, and digital transformation to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable development.

The total number of tasks to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW is 802. As of June 30, 2025, 239 tasks have been completed, and 427 tasks are in progress according to the roadmap.

The Government has issued 16 Decrees, 1 Resolution, contributing to promoting the development of national science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

The country currently has 858 science and technology enterprises, 45 high-tech enterprises, and more than 73,000 digital technology businesses.

Digital infrastructure continues to be promoted with more than 12,100 5G stations, equivalent to 8.06 per cent of 4G stations.

More than 26 per cent of the population has access to 5G services.

So far, many localities have actively completed, upgraded, and developed information systems to serve the direction, administration, and service of people and businesses after the merger.

Speaking at the Conference, General Secretary Tô Lâm emphasized that Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW has shaped the path of rapid and sustainable development of the country in the new period, especially when the two-tier local government model has officially been in operation in 34 provinces and cities since July 1, 2025.

The General Secretary requested that in the coming time, ministries, sectors, and agencies should urgently develop and complete documents detailing and guiding the implementation of laws at the ninth session of the 15th National Assembly.

At the same time, it is necessary to promulgate specific mechanisms and policies to promote the development of science, technology, and innovation.

 

At the Conference, three application platform systems were launched for the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, including: the Portal of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Information system to monitor and evaluate the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, and the Information system for receiving, processing feedback, recommendations, initiatives, solutions for the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
