Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Trần Phước Hiền inspects the the Đăk Glei Hydropower Project in Đăk Long Commune
QUẢNG NGÃI — Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Trần Phước Hiền inspected the Đăk Glei Hydropower Project in Đăk Long Commune on September 11, urging relevant agencies and the investor to address outstanding issues and ensure the project is implemented effectively.
During the field inspection and subsequent working session, Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền emphasized that energy projects, particularly hydropower projects, play an important role in local socio-economic development.
He noted that the implementation of such projects can contribute to increasing State budget revenue, creating jobs and strengthening resources for future investment.
He asked provincial departments, agencies and local authorities to continue reviewing and improving project management, ensuring that land use, construction works and investment in power transmission lines are carried out appropriately and efficiently.
Particular attention should be paid to minimizing impacts on land and local residents’ lives, while studying suitable grid connection options that balance the investor’s investment efficiency with the interests of the locality, he said.
Local authorities and the investor were also requested to closely assess the existing conditions in the project area and publicly provide relevant information to local residents. This would help strengthen land management and prevent the exploitation of policies for improper gain.
The investor was asked to coordinate with local authorities in implementing social welfare programmes and supporting the local community.

Regarding proposals raised by the locality, Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền asked relevant agencies and units to proactively coordinate in reviewing the issues and reaching definitive solutions, creating favorable conditions for the project to proceed on schedule.
The Đăk Glei Hydropower Project has a designed capacity of 10.6 MW and an average annual electricity output of about 34.56 million kWh.
The project covers 44 hectares, including 43.55 hectares for hydropower facilities in Đăk Long Commune and land for a 22kV transmission line connecting the project to the national grid through Đăk Long, Đăk Môn and Dục Nông communes.
The project has a total investment of more than VNĐ387 billion.
