On January 7, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, Tran Phuoc Hien, met with departments and agencies about ensuring goods, stabilizing market prices, and fighting smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods before, during, and after Lunar New Year 2025 in the province.
The report by the Department of Industry and Trade shows the current situation of essential goods in the market is stable with abundant supply and stable prices.
However, prices of certain foodstuff like sugar, rice, beef, and pork have slightly increased due to reduced supply after the African swine fever epidemic.
Businesses in the province have stocked up goods for the traditional Tet holiday, with supermarkets increasing their stock by 50%.
Gasoline and oil supply is stable, and efforts are being made to ensure labor safety, hygiene, and fire prevention at enterprises, markets, and commercial centers.
Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Hien urged departments, agencies, and localities to monitor market developments and promptly implement price stabilization measures if needed.
He emphasized the importance of assessing supply and demand, especially for essential goods, to maintain market stability.
He also called for promoting Vietnamese goods, organizing campaigns to bring them to rural areas, and supporting vulnerable populations during the Lunar New Year.
Businesses were instructed to ensure sufficient reserves and prevent sudden price increases.
Fire prevention was also highlighted as a priority.
