According to the Ministry of Construction, 679 social housing projects nationwide are underway, with a total of 623,051 units.

Of these, 108 projects (73,075 units) have been completed, 155 projects (132,791 units) have started construction, and 416 projects (417,185 units) have received investment approval. This accounts for 48 per cnet of the 2025 target of 428,000 units.

In the first five months of 2025 alone, 22,649 units were completed, and 21 new projects (20,428 units) were launched.

The Ministry also conducted field inspections in 20 provinces. It is expected that 22 localities will meet their housing targets, 22 may fall short, and 12 have not yet started.

In Quảng Ngãi, the province has issued policies and incentives to attract investment in social housing, including identifying 20 project locations for development.

As part of the national plan to build 1 million social housing units by 2030, Quảng Ngãi is tasked with delivering 6,300 units.

Currently, three proposed projects with around 2,134 units have cleared land and are ready for implementation under simplified legal procedures enabled by Resolution 201.

Prime Minister Chính praised the efforts of all levels but noted delays in execution.

He emphasized that by 2030, at least 1 million units must be completed.

He called for stronger, more effective actions from local authorities, relevant agencies, and businesses, including revising laws and cutting red tape to facilitate access to housing policies and funding.
