The direction was made by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Võ Phiên, at the meeting on May 21 with Sơn Hà district on the implementation of the National Target Programs in the area.

Reportedly, from 2022 to 2024, Sơn Hà district was allocated more than VNĐ 355 billion to implement the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas.
By the end of April 2025, nearly VNĐ 260 billion had been implemented and disbursed, reaching over 73 per cent.
The district has supported 690 out of 695 houses, assisted job conversion for 212 households, provided loans for 38 households with a total value of nearly VNĐ 2.5 billion, and completed 12 centralized domestic water works, serving more than 2,000 beneficiary households.
The district has also implemented two centralized resettlement areas, with 60 beneficiary households.

Additionally, Sơn Hà district has invested in building 136 schools, transportation, electricity, suspension bridges, irrigation works, etc.
Regarding the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, from 2021 to 2025, the whole district was allocated nearly VNĐ 38.9 billion to implement livelihood diversification, develop poverty reduction models, support production development, improve nutrition, and develop vocational education and sustainable employment.
By the end of April 2025, VNĐ 12.9 billion had been disbursed, reaching over 49.2 per cent.
However, the effectiveness of the models and production support projects under the National Target Programs has not been evaluated.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Võ Phiên praised the implementation results of the two National Target Programs on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas and Sustainable Poverty Reduction in Sơn Hà district.
He requested that Sơn Hà district continue directing agencies, units, and the People's Committees of communes to review the projects of the two Programs, ensuring appropriate content, targets, and funding sources.

Especially, the district need to urgently allocate, organize implementation, and disburse newly allocated capital, finalize public investment capital for completed projects, balance and arrange counterpart funds from the district budget to ensure the prescribed ratio, Phiên added.
It is necessary to accelerate progress and complete projects and sub-projects that directly affect the local people’s interests, especially during the time of transferring tasks between the district and commune levels, the PPC’s Vice Chairman stressed.
