Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyễn Đức Tâm receives Stefan Vuza, Chairman of Chimcomplex (Romania SCR)
QUẢNG NGÃI – Romanian chemical group Chimcomplex is exploring investment opportunities in Quảng Ngãi Province, with a proposed project in the Dung Quất Economic Zone focusing on chemical production and supporting industries.
Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyên Đức Tâm received Stefan Vuza, Chairman of Chimcomplex (Romania SCR) on October 30 to discuss potential investment cooperation in the province.
At the meeting, Tâm highlighted Quảng Ngãi’s strengths in oil refining, petrochemicals and heavy industries, expressing the province’s interest in attracting major investors, particularly in deep petrochemical processing and downstream products.
Vuza introduced Chimcomplex as one of Romania’s leading chemical groups, currently operating 72 factories.
With a long-term cooperation vision spanning 20 years, the group plans to expand its investment and establish manufacturing facilities in Việt Nam, focusing on the chemical and supporting industries.
Chimcomplex expressed its interest in developing a project in the Dung Quất Economic Zone and proposed forming a joint venture with a Vietnamese State-owned enterprise to implement the investment.
Welcoming the proposal, Tâm said Dung Quất Economic Zone offered favourable conditions for the group’s investment plans.
Potential Vietnamese partners include Bình Sơn Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR), a major State-owned enterprise in the refining and petrochemical sector, as well as industrial companies such as Hòa Phát Dung Quất Steel and HD Hyundai Eco Vina, which could provide equipment, materials and technical cooperation.
The province also has approximately 500 hectares of available land in the economic zone, together with a modern deep-water seaport system located near Bình Sơn Refining and Petrochemical Plant, providing advantages for logistics and industrial production.
Tâm noted that investors in Dung Quất could benefit from the Government’s preferential policies, including tax incentives, mechanisms for attracting highly skilled domestic and foreign workers, and support in expediting administrative procedures.
He affirmed that the provincial authorities stand ready to accompany Chimcomplex throughout the investment process and address any difficulties to facilitate the early and effective implementation of its proposed project.
The meeting marked a step towards strengthening investment cooperation between Quảng Ngãi and Romanian businesses, particularly in the chemical and petrochemical industries.
