Chairman of Provincial People’s Council, Nguyễn Đức Tuy, gives  directions

The Quảng Ngãi Political School, in collaboration with the Vietnam-Australia Centre (VAC), on August 24 launched a programme on modern leadership capacity building (LEADCOM) for leaders and managers in the province’s public sector.

The opening ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đoàn Triệu Long, Director of the Academy of Politics Region III under the Hồ Chí Minh National Academy of Politics; representatives of the Australian Embassy in Việt Nam; and leaders of relevant agencies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyễn Đức Tuy, Chairman of Provincial People’s Council stressed that LEADCOM is of practical significance in updating knowledge, renewing leadership and management thinking and methods, and improving the capacity of cadres and civil servants.

The programme is expected to help meet the requirements of building a modern, professional, effective and efficient public administration and support the province’s development in the new period, he said.

In the new context, leadership and management capacity is demonstrated not only through the timely and comprehensive implementation of policies, but also through the ability to closely understand local realities, promptly identify and resolve grassroots issues, mobilise resources from the people, build consensus and effectively implement local political tasks.

Tuy called on participants to take an active and responsible approach to the programme, engage in research and discussion, and link theoretical knowledge with their practical work.

After completing the programme, participants should apply the new knowledge and approaches to their daily work, create tangible improvements in leadership and management, and proactively advise competent authorities on appropriate and feasible policies, mechanisms and solutions for the province’s development, he said.

He also asked the Quảng Ngãi Political School to further strengthen its role in training and fostering cadres by expanding cooperation with reputable agencies, organisations, experts, scientists and training institutions.

The school should regularly update new issues, advanced management models and experience, while closely linking training content with the province’s practical development needs, he added.

Leaders of relevant agencies attend the training

Held from August 24 to 26, the LEADCOM programme brought together experts and lecturers from Australia and Việt Nam.

The programme focused on leading green growth and economic transformation; Quảng Ngãi’s development priorities in balancing industrial development, capacity transformation and climate change response; leadership amid change and strengthening climate resilience; and innovation and future-ready digital governance.

As part of the programme, a seminar on digital governance was scheduled for August 26, bringing together representatives from the provincial authorities, the Political School, VAC, experts and businesses.

The seminar focuses on institutional bottlenecks and mechanisms for building digital governance at the local level, the application of artificial intelligence in the public sector and Australian experience, as well as digital transformation at the grassroots level, with a view to developing digital governance solutions suited to Quảng Ngãi’s practical conditions.
