On September 11, Quảng Ngãi Provincial Police held a conference to sign memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on cooperation in maintaining security and public order with police forces from provinces in Laos and Cambodia.

Major General Hồ Song Ân, Secretary of the Provincial Police Party Committee and Director of Quảng Ngãi Provincial Police, chaired the conference.
Speaking at the event, Major General Hồ Song Ân emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with Lao and Cambodian police forces in maintaining security and public order, combating crime and safeguarding regional security.

He called for continued information sharing, experience exchange and timely coordination in addressing emerging issues, particularly transnational crime, drug-related offenses, high-tech crime and human trafficking.
Under the MoU, Quảng Ngãi Provincial Police and police forces of Ratanakiri and Stung Treng provinces of Cambodia agreed to focus on crime prevention and control, immigration management, capacity building, professional training, experience sharing, Vietnamese-Khmer language training, and exchanges and external relations.

With Lao provinces of Attapeu, Sekong and Champasak, Quảng Ngãi Provincial Police agreed to continue cooperation in safeguarding political security; regularly exchange information on security and political developments and emerging issues; and coordinate efforts to prevent and combat crime and maintain social order and safety.
In combating drug-related crime, the parties will strengthen control of drugs; jointly survey key routes and hotspots; share information on cases and suspects; and coordinate joint operations to detect, prevent and combat transnational drug trafficking.
The parties also agreed to strengthen coordination in maintaining security and public order along border areas; raise legal awareness among officers, soldiers and local residents; and respect each country’s independence, sovereignty, customs and traditions. They will coordinate efforts to prevent illegal entry and exit, uncontrolled migration and illegal exploitation of natural resources and minerals. Border commune police forces will maintain information exchange, coordinate control at border gates, trails and openings, and promptly address emerging complex issues.
