On the evening of February 9, during his working program in Quang Ngai, Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Government delegation visited Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company.
Also accompanying the delegation were Central Party Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Dang Ngoc Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang.

Reporting to the Prime Minister, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat Group, Tran Dinh Long, said that Hoa Phat Group has invested 7 billion USD in Quang Ngai's Dung Quat Economic Zone, focusing on the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Complex and Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex projects with a total investment of over 171 trillion VND.
They contributed nearly 35 trillion VND to the State budget from 2017 to 2024 and created jobs for around 17,000 direct workers, mostly locals.
The Group also supports social security initiatives, such as building houses for the poor and sponsoring various community projects.
They aim to complete and operate the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex project by the end of 2025, which will boost their steel production capacity to 15 million tons per year, potentially making them one of the top 30 largest steel enterprises globally.
Chairman Tran Dinh Long stated that Hoa Phat is the leading steel producer in Vietnam and exports to 40 countries and territories.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the achievements of Hoa Phat in Quang Ngai after 8 years of investment and appreciated the support of the provincial authorities.
He urged Hoa Phat to focus on producing high-quality steel, particularly for railway projects.
Quang Ngai province will provide land for Hoa Phat projects, and ministries will ensure compliance with regulations.
The Prime Minister hopes Hoa Phat Group will achieve higher growth in 2025, contributing to Vietnam's double-digit GDP growth target and the country's overall prosperity.
