Groundbreaking ceremony of the VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park Project

On March 12, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province coordinated with VSIP Quang Ngai Company Limited to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of the VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Business Project in Binh Hiep commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province.

Attending the ceremony were Politburo member, National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; NA’s Vice Chairman, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong; NA’s Vice Chairman Vu Hong Thanh; leaders of Central and local committees and ministries.

The VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Business Project (phase 1) has a scale of nearly 500 hectares, with a total investment capital of nearly VND 3,800 billion, and an operating period of 50 years.

The project is implemented in the two communes of Binh Thanh (289ha) and Binh Hiep (209ha), Binh Son district, with one side adjacent to National Highway 1. The project implementation location is mainly agricultural land, rural land.

The construction implementation period is expected to be 60 months. When completed, VSIP II Quang Ngai will create jobs for about 50,000 workers and will contribute to the local socio-economic development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang said that after more than 10 years of operation, VSIP Quang Ngai Industrial Park has gradually become a reliable address for investors, a bright spot in attracting investment capital to the province, especially foreign investment projects.

“This is not only an important milestone, but also marks the success of VSIP in the Vietnamese market in general and Quang Ngai province in particular”, added Giang.

“The province commits to mobilizing all resources to focus on infrastructure investment, improving the quality of human resources, listening to investors’ recommendations and proposals, and continuing to improve the province’s competitiveness, becoming an attractive destination for the business community”, emphasized Giang.

The PPC’s Chairman also hopes to welcome more investors, especially FDI enterprises investing in VSIP Quang Ngai Industrial Park.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, on behalf of the Government, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh acknowledged the efforts of local authorities at all levels of Quang Ngai province in creating the best conditions for bussiness community and attracting potential investors.

Binh also highly appreciated the contributions of domestic and foreign enterprises, especially Singaporean enterprises in Vietnam that have contributed significantly to the success and development of VSIP Quang Ngai.

The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister requested Sembcorp and Becamex Groups to continue promoting the effectiveness of the Industrial Park, Urban and Service models and directing the investment and development of VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park towards a smart, modern and sustainable industrial park.

Binh requested ministries and sectors to actively guide investors on investment, construction and environmental procedures and support investors to promptly resolve difficulties and problems during project implementation.

He also urged Quang Ngai authorities to urgently support VSIP to complete the project’s compensation and site clearance works according to regulations.

“Vietnam will continue to maintain a stable investment environment, promote administrative procedure reform, improve the legal system to create favorable conditions for foreign enterprises in general and Singaporean enterprises in particular to invest in Vietnam,” Binh emphasized.
