PPC’s vice chairman Trần Phước Hiền chairs a meeting on Solid Waste Treatment Plant Project in Nghĩa Kỳ Commune

Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Committee, Trần Phước Hiền on May 12 chaired a meeting to discuss issues related to the implementation of the Solid Waste Treatment Plant Project in Nghĩa Kỳ Commune, Tư Nghĩa District.

At the meeting, representatives from Northern Development Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company presented an overview of the project's progress, assessed the results achieved, and outlined current difficulties and obstacles.

The Solid Waste Treatment Plant Project was approved by the Provincial People's Committee under Decision No. 862/QD-UBND dated May 18, 2016. The project aims to treat domestic waste in accordance with Vietnam's environmental standards and to produce organic fertilizer and recycled materials.

To date, 24 construction items have been appraised and granted construction permits by the Department of Construction.

Of these, 10 items have been completed, including the waste sorting and treatment workshop, composting workshop, organic fertilizer production workshop, leachate tank, and biological treatment pond.

At the meeting, the company proposed that the Provincial People's Committee allow an adjustment to the project schedule, providing a basis for the company to prepare and submit a dossier to amend the project's investment policy in accordance with regulations.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền requested relevant departments and agencies to closely coordinate in resolving the project's difficulties.

The Department of Finance was tasked with reviewing the entire project, particularly the basis for extending the implementation period for the remaining items, and reporting the findings to the Provincial People's Committee.
