QUẢNG NGÃI — Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang on January 6 chaired an expanded briefing meeting to review and direct the implementation of several key tasks in the coming period.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chairpersons Y Ngọc, Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm, Trần Phước Hiền and Nguyễn Công Hoàng, along with leaders of relevant departments and agencies.

Based on a report by the Department of Home Affairs and comments from the vice chairpersons, participants discussed the admission of public employees into the civil service.

Chairman Giang asked the department to continue reviewing dossiers to ensure full compliance with regulations and to promptly submit eligible cases to the provincial authorities for consideration and decision.

Regarding the list of urban and rural planning projects planned for implementation in the 2025–2028 period, the Department of Construction reported that 122 planning schemes had been compiled, with a total estimated budget of about VNĐ300 billion.

These include nine master and zoning plans under provincial authority, 18 plans led by the Department of Construction, 15 zoning plans prepared by the provincial project management board and communal-level authorities, and 180 master plans under the authority of communal People’s Committees.

Chairman Giang stressed that planning work must be expedited to meet the province’s socio-economic development needs in the next phase.

He urged the Department of Construction to prioritise areas where investors have shown interest, ensure close coordination in implementing planning schemes, and maintain feasibility.

For matters under provincial authority, the department was asked to promptly advise the Provincial People’s Committee, while providing guidance to localities on plans under communal authority.

The Department of Finance was tasked with coordinating with relevant units to balance funding and ensure effective implementation of planning tasks during the 2025–2028 period.

Among other priorities, the chairman instructed the Department of Construction to urgently address two landslide sites on National Highway 24, ensuring both lanes are open to traffic before the Lunar New Year to facilitate safe and smooth travel.

He also directed vice chairpersons to closely oversee public investment disbursement through January 31, 2026, advance the implementation of approved plans, review the roadmap for the National Energy Centre project, monitor the handling of issues raised by inspection and audit conclusions, and ensure thorough preparations for the Lunar New Year.

The Office of the Provincial People’s Committee was asked to proactively review assigned tasks and advise provincial leaders in a timely manner to ensure effective implementation in the period ahead.
