On March 9, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the National Steering Committee for national key projects in the transport sector, chaired the 16th meeting of the Committee.
Attendees at the Quang Ngai bridge point included Nguyen Hoang Giang, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Tran Phuoc Hien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders from relevant departments, units, and localities involved.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Construction, along with localities and relevant units, reported on the progress of key transport projects, the challenges they face, and proposed solutions to accelerate the progress of these projects in the coming period.
According to the Ministry of Construction, at the 15th meeting held on December 6, 2024, the Prime Minister had assigned 33 tasks to various ministries and localities aimed at removing difficulties and obstacles while expediting investment preparation procedures for projects. To date, 22 of these tasks have been completed on time.
Currently, the country is undertaking the construction of 28 expressway projects and component projects, totaling approximately 1,188 km. These projects are expected to be completed by 2025, contributing to the goal of establishing 3,000 km of expressways nationwide.
Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged the prompt consolidation of the Steering Committee following its new organizational structure.
He emphasized that promoting public investment and implementing key transport infrastructure projects will foster economic growth, create job opportunities for people and businesses, open new avenues for development, increase land value, and facilitate the growth of new industrial, service, and urban areas.
The Prime Minister called on investors to review their plans and ensure that sufficient capital is allocated for projects to be completed by 2025.
He instructed the Ministry of Finance to urgently submit capital allocation proposals to the relevant authorities.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is to continue conducting on-site surveys, guiding localities to resolve and eliminate obstacles.
They are also tasked with reviewing, synthesizing, and submitting proposals to amend and enhance the legal framework, ensuring transparency and public involvement in the assignment of mines to projects.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister requested the promotion of the emulation movement titled "500 Days and Nights to complete 3,000 km of Expressway."
