Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, chaired a meeting with leaders of the Department of Finance (DoF)today, April 23, on the results of implementing tasks in the first quarter of 2025 and key tasks in the coming time. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Võ Phiên, and leaders of functional departments and sectors attended the meeting.
Reportedly, in the first quarter of 2025, the DoF carried out 17 tasks according to the work program assigned by the PPC. Of these, 14 tasks were completed on time, while three tasks were extended into the second quarter of 2025.
As of April 15, 2025, the PPC assigned the DoF 175 time-limited tasks. To date, the Department has completed 154 out of 175 tasks on schedule, while 21 tasks remain in progress.
The DoF has promptly advised the PPC to issue plans for socio-economic development in 2025, and has timely prepared periodic reports for the PPC to direct the implementation of the province's socio-economic targets in 2025.
The DoF has also advised the PPC to direct and organize the implementation and disbursement of public investment capital in the province.
The total capital plan assigned by the Prime Minister and the Provincial People's Council is over VND 5,329 billion. As of March 31, 2025, the Department had advised on the detailed allocation of more than VND 5,166 billion.

As of March 31, disbursement reached nearly 342 billion VND, achieving 6.4 per cent of the capital plan.
Total state budget revenue in the locality in the first quarter of 2025 reached VND 8,506 billion, equal to 26.6 per cent of the estimate assigned by the PPC, and reaching 98 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Some revenues reached and exceeded the assigned estimate progress, such as revenue from foreign-invested enterprises (reaching 89.7 per cent), non-state areas (reaching 36 per cent), personal income tax (reaching 47.9 per cent), and revenue from lottery activities (reaching 40.3 per cent).
Total local budget expenditure reached VND 3,215 billion, equal to 17.1 per cent of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council, and 125.1 per cent compared to the same period last year.
In the first quarter of 2025, the DoF received and processed 1,551 business registration dossiers, including 187 newly registered businesses.

Currently, the DoF is reviewing redundant headquarters in Quang Ngai city, proposing plans to repair, renovate, upgrade, and arrange official residences for officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers in need after the arrangement of provincial administrative units.

Acknowledging the efforts and highly appreciating the results achieved in the first three months of the DoF, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang requested the Department to continue following the work program of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the sector's plan to complete tasks in 2025.
The PPC’s Chairman noted that the DoF needs to closely monitor each project and investor to urge the disbursement of public investment capital, and remove difficulties for investors, striving to reach the growth targets of 8.5 per cent in 2025.
