PPC’s Standing Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc works with Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation

On October 15, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the PPC Y Ngọc had a working session with a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the implementation of international integration, local external relations, and issues related to the two-tier local government model.

Since the beginning of the year, Quảng Ngãi Province has welcomed over 60 foreign delegations, sent nearly 20 working delegations abroad, and received aid commitments worth more than US$ 1.6 million  from over 20 international organizations. These programs mainly focus on healthcare, education, social welfare, and agriculture, contributing to improving people’s livelihoods and promoting sustainable development.

Nguyễn Đồng Trung, Deputy Director General of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, acknowledged Quảng Ngãi’s efforts and affirmed that the Ministry would compile the province’s proposals and coordinate with relevant agencies to provide appropriate support.

He also suggested strengthening cooperation in promoting the province’s image, culture, tourism, and investment opportunities.

Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc emphasized that after the administrative reorganization, Quảng Ngãi Province now has a 293-kilometer border with Laos and Cambodia, including the Bờ Y – Phu Cưa International Border Gate and two auxiliary gates Đăk Blô - Đăk Bar and Đăk Long - Văng Tắt, which plays a crucial role in socio-economic development and national defense.

The province is focusing on developing two strategic economic hubs — the Dung Quất Economic Zone in the East and the Bờ Y International Border Gate Economic Zone in the West, located along the East–West Economic Corridor, to enhance regional connectivity and international cooperation.

Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc proposed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continue to support training and capacity building for local external affairs officers, assist the province in investment promotion, upgrading border gate infrastructure, and improving transport connectivity to foster economic growth, tourism, and national defense.
