On September 19, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Y Ngọc, held a working session with the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs to review its performance in the first eight months of 2025 and discuss upcoming tasks.
According to Director Xiêng Thanh Phúc, the Department has stabilized its organizational structure after the implementation of the two-tier local government model.

In the first eight months of 2025, the Department has actively advised the PPC on policies related to ethnic minorities and religions, organized legal training programs, distributed nearly 6,000 legal handbooks, and coordinated events with village elders and community leaders.
The province has disbursed over VNĐ 3,100 billion for the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc praised the Department’s efforts. Despite challenges such as staff shortages and overlapping regulations, the Department has proactively implemented many policies, contributing to maintaining political stability, social order and safety, especially in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

She urged the Department to strengthen coordination with relevant agencies, accelerate project implementation and disbursement, enhance legal education for ethnic minorities and religious communities, and focus on preserving traditional cultural values.
Y Ngọc emphasized the need to develop a comprehensive plan for 2025–2030 in line with the Provincial Party Congress’ goals to improve livelihoods and ensure sustainable development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
