On the morning of October 12, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hồ Văn Niên visited and worked with the Party Committee of Đông Sơn Commune to review the first nine months of 2025 and outline key tasks for the coming period.
Đông Sơn Commune was formed by merging five administrative units: Bình Hiệp, Bình Thanh, Bình Tân Phú, Bình Châu (of former Bình Sơn district), and Tịnh Hòa (of former Quảng Ngãi City). The commune has a large population, abundant labor resources, and strategic advantages in industry, commerce, services, and tourism, lying within the Dung Quất Southeast Economic Zone and VSIP II.

In the first nine months of 2025, the commune’s total production value reached about VNĐ 2,106 billion, equivalent to 85.5 per cent of the annual plan, with budget revenue exceeding VNĐ 1,835 billion. The local government effectively implemented the two-tier administrative model, receiving and processing more than 7,300 administrative dossiers, including 2,690 online submissions.
Local leaders proposed that the province invest in schools, healthcare facilities, and public infrastructure, as well as adjust staffing norms and financial mechanisms suited to the commune’s urban characteristics.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Hồ Văn Niên commended Đông Sơn’s proactive efforts, particularly in digital transformation after the merger, and its effective public service delivery.
He emphasized that the commune possesses significant development potential and should focus on key tasks such as land clearance, Party building, and cadre development.
He urged the Commune’s Party Committee to strengthen grassroots organizations, build a capable and responsible team of officials, clearly assign duties, and take work performance as the measure of officials’ effectiveness.
