On September 16, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Trần Phước Hiền, chaired a meeting to review the progress of power and energy development projects across the province. Leaders of relevant departments, agencies, and enterprises attended the meeting.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, projects under the approved National Power Development Plan 8 in Quảng Ngãi have a total capacity of over 6,852 MW, including gas-fired power, hydropower, pumped-storage, solar, wind, biomass, and waste-to-energy plants.
Currently, the province is implementing 17 hydropower projects with a combined capacity of nearly 337 MW, alongside other projects in solar and wind power, biomass, and gas-fired power at different stages of investment procedures.
At the meeting, enterprises raised challenges related to planning, investment procedures, land clearance, grid connection, and investor's capacity.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Hiền requested the Department of Industry and Trade to review and finalize investment procedures for eligible projects, ensure transparency in investor selection, and coordinate with relevant departments to promptly resolve obstacles.
He also called on local authorities to strengthen coordination and support investors to accelerate project implementation, contributing to local socio-economic development.
