Leaders of Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee on Monday reviewed recent governance activities and agreed to halt a major urban planning project.
According to the Provincial People’s Committeee’s office, between Sept. 22 and 28, the leadership chaired a series of meetings addressing urgent matters and issued 34 decisions along with 54 directives and reports.
Giang instructed agencies to accelerate work on socio-economic development, public asset management, social housing, and a campaign to update the national land database.
The meeting also decided to suspend a general planning project for the Bình Sơn new urban area. Instead, the province will prioritize preparing more detailed sub-zoning plans.
Giang tasked the Department of Construction with coordinating agencies to refine proposals for provincial approval.
The chairman emphasized that planning is key to attracting investment and fostering sustainable growth.
He called for a comprehensive review of existing plans to ensure consistency, identify priority areas, and align with development needs while balancing public interests.
