On August 18, at Vạn Tường commune, the People’s Committee of Quảng Ngãi Province held a ceremony to inaugurate the Vạn Tường Victory Museum.
The event was part of activities marking the 60th anniversary of the Vạn Tường Victory (August 18, 1965 – August 18, 2025) and celebrating the 1st Congress of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term.
Attending the ceremony were Senior Lieutenant General Lê Chiêm, former Member of the Party Central Committee and former Deputy Minister of National Defense; Major General Trần Thanh Hải, Deputy Commander of Military Region 5; Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee U Huấn; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Đức Tuy; Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Y Ngọc, together with members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, former provincial leaders, representatives of departments, agencies, Vạn Tường Commune, and veterans who took part in the historic victory.
Vạn Tường Victory Museum
The museum currently displays 132 documentary photos, 56 artifacts, and numerous materials about the battles that contributed to the Vạn Tường Victory in 1965.
Exhibits are arranged thematically, providing a coherent narrative of the battle’s developments.
The exhibition space is divided into sections: background, causes and developments of the battle, stories of heroic soldiers, and a recreated battlefield with vivid models and dioramas.
The museum also preserves soldiers’ personal belongings such as weapons, uniforms, letters, and diaries.
The museum is a place to educate the revolutionary tradition for the younger generation
The Vạn Tường Victory Museum is not only a “red address” for revolutionary tradition education but also a cultural and historical tourism highlight of Quảng Ngãi Province.
