The Vạn Tường Victory (August 18, 1965) was the first major battle in which the armed forces and people of Quảng Ngãi directly engaged and defeated a large-scale U.S. Marine force. With determination and ingenuity, they killed and wounded hundreds of American troops, destroyed numerous modern military vehicles, and marked a significant turning point in the resistance war against the U.S., reinforcing the strength and belief in the ultimate victory of the Southern people.
