On September 3, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, together with PPC Vice Chairpersons Y Ngọc, Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm, and Trần Phước Hiền, chaired a meeting to review and give opinions on several matters under the provincial authority, with the attendance of members of the PPC and leaders of relevant departments.
The meeting considered the licensing application of Hòa Phát-Dung Quất Steel JSC for a 22-hectare mineral mine at the Hòa Phát-Dung Quất 2 Steel Complex in Vạn Tường commune.
The company submitted its dossier before the new Law on Geology and Minerals took effect (July 1, 2025), making the PPC the licensing authority.
Chairman Giang directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to consolidate opinions and advise the PPC on granting the license, ensuring strict management, effective exploitation, sufficient budget revenues, and environmental protection.
The PPC also discussed funding allocation for the An Phú Industrial–Urban–Service Complex zoning plan (VNĐ 800 million in 2025 out of a total VNĐ 3.2 billion), and for the electronic health records program (VNĐ 17 billion for 32 medical facilities in 2025).
Regarding support policies for students of Lê Khiết and Nguyễn Tất Thành specialized high schools (estimated VNĐ 21 billion), Chairman Giang agreed in principle and assigned the Department of Finance to work out an implementation mechanism to ensure continuity.
In addition, the PPC approved the proposal to allocate funds for an art performance program celebrating the success of the upcoming 1st Provincial Party Congress (2025–2030 term). Chairman Giang requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to prepare a detailed plan for effective implementation.
